File extension iff information
File extension IFF is a file format with two associations namely the Interchangeable File Format and Amiga IFF Graphic. The Interchange file format association is the common one and falls in the category of Audio files. It presents a universal file format created by Electronic Arts. The file may hold images, audio data or text and is normally used as a basis for various other types of file formats. This file extension is made of data sections called ‘chunks’ which are defined using four-letter IDs. The main types of chunk include LIST, CAT and FORM. LIST contains the file properties; FORM specifies the file format while CAT contains the remaining data. Every chunk may comprise raw data, numerical data and text.
